Work in progress…pastel pictures
I thought I’d have another go at pastels after my first messy attempt. I may have been a little ambitious, but generally pleased with the results so far. Hopefully it will be as haunting as the original, in the end. As you can see, the stumps of wood are a challenge and at the moment, just remind me of turds. Hoping that this will change…Watch this space!
Pastel Picture attempt 1 – Rolling Hills
Seeing as I found water colour sunsets such a challenge I wimped out and tried pastels. I noticed my neighbour at art class doing some great pictures with pastels, but she is also quite experienced and has a natural talent for art which will have helped her! Dad got me some pastels and stuff for Read the Rest…
More Luscious Vegan Lunches – CousCous and Roasted Veggies
I wanted an alternative to sandwiches for lunch and decided to have some time off the bread, and mostly because I needed some variety. If you’re looking for a gluten free alternative to cous cous, then substitute quinoa. I did it the previous week with some green lentils and quinoa, but it was so much Read the Rest…
Watercolour sunset finally finished!
I struggled with this quite a bit, but Maggie really helped me every step of the way, and now I’m quite happy with my first real painting. I learnt a lot through actually applying the techniques shown me and a lot of trail and error. I hope to get a lot better anyway, and at Read the Rest…
The food of vegan gods! Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Brownies
The only thing I would change about this recipe is adding more chocolate, but I have a slight addiction to chocolate. This is very easy to make, very moist and has a whole range of textures in there, especially if you use crunchy peanut butter as I did. I did actually eat 4 while they Read the Rest…
Painting Beautiful skylines…well not yet but maybe someday!
As was my original aim with art class, I have started painting skylines, sooner than I imagined. However, I didn’t realise how hard it would be and have spent a lot of time sulking, expecting to take to everything like a duck to water. I was very lucky with how quickly I was able to Read the Rest…
Spicy Bean Burgers – that look surprisingly like cookies
I try to avoid the manufacturer fake meat products because you never know how much rubbish goes into them to create that ‘fake meat’ taste so making these burgers was great, especially as they were so easy and made from things that are easy to keep in stock. I took photos and the mixture looks Read the Rest…
Fruit Crumble – Easy and delicious dessert for everyone! (Including vegans of course)
So this is not so much a recipe as instructions for the easiest but very wholesome favourite that happens to be suitable for vegans as well. Its bit of a cheat because a huge chunk of it involves cheating…but you can have all the ingredients waiting for you, and pull it together pretty quickly and Read the Rest…
Orange Painting last attempt…for now – Knowing when to move on
I had quite a tough time trying to finish this orange…because although it looks alright, if you see the original picture of three pieces of fruit done by my teacher, it doesn’t have the same peely (technical term there) texture. However, for now it will do, I want to move on to new things and Read the Rest…
Brilliantly Beautiful Blueberry Muffins – try and stop yourself from eating these bad boys!
I know I have posted before about muffins, but honestly my attempts thusfar have not been as impressive as these bad boys, and so its worth sharing. I made them quickly this morning before I had a visit from some family, so they were cooking away nicely when they arrived, making me seem like a Read the Rest…
Happy Easter! Vegan Hot Cross Buns – or bums as I spelt it earlier – stupid ipod
I couldn’t take the smell of hot cross buns at Morrisons anymore, so decided to have a go at it myself…I was pleasantly surprised although they are not as soft as from the supermarket, and could double as weapons if thrown with enough force. Be warned, if you see me carrying hot cross buns not Read the Rest…
Let’s get fruitier – wet on wet technique in watercolour painting
Building on last weeks lesson, and still only using the primary colours, I was to create more fruit but with less definition to the shadows. The banana had a clear cut shadow, so it was easy to paint a line in the darker shade, but with objects that were rounder I needed to learn how Read the Rest…
